Hi, I’m Sammy Lou — a Geelong local who grew up by the coast and now works as a theatre nurse in a private hospital.
While nursing is my career, painting has always been my dream—something I’ve slowly nurtured into my own creative world. My work is inspired by girlhood, memory, and the small, sentimental details we collect along the way.
When I’m not in theatre or painting, you’ll find me at yoga or pilates, or planning my next trip—always seeking new inspiration, colour, and experiences to bring back into my art.

Hi, I’m Sammy Lou — an oil painter based in Geelong, creating colourful, nostalgic pieces inspired by girlhood, memory, and the little things that make life feel special.
My work is a reflection of moments that feel both playful and personal—childhood nostalgia, memories of holidays, and the magic of growing up. From sweet treats and trinkets to objects collected along the way, each painting captures a sense of sentimentality and softness that lingers through time.
As my work evolves, it also draws on the energy of young adulthood—female friendship, getting ready for nights out, cocktail hour, flowers on the table, slices of cake shared with friends, and the quiet luxury of beautiful things. There’s a balance between innocence and indulgence, where playful nostalgia meets a more elevated, feminine world of colour, texture, and detail.
I’m drawn to bold palettes, soft textures, and that in-between space of growing up but never quite letting go of your inner child. Each piece is created slowly and intentionally, with the hope that it brings warmth, familiarity, and a sense of joy into your space.
